We decided to bet on women's hockey. And we didn't lose! First the magnificent five and the goalkeeper met. Then, with the participation of local media, a full team was recruited. They probably started like everyone else: with the basics of skating and learning the technique of using a stick. After all, most of the players didn't know how to skate, they had never seen ice in their lives! Many players since childhood live in Sochi, in a city with a humid subtropical climate, where in winter there are not even subzero temperatures. Barely skating, the "DEFFCHONKI" went to their first official tournament in St. Petersburg. Then, in the first qualifying phase of the women's hockey league, which took place in October 2019, no one set serious goals. "For us it was important to feel the competitive spirit, look at others, be charged with emotions, get excited and motivated to continue training." The debut was worthy, the girls showed real character and took third place in the standings.
